On Tuesday, Graham gave his usual song and dance at the University Faculty Senate meeting about the tough economic times which lay ahead which will require "belt tightening", but not to worry the University is financially sound.
On Thursday,The Penn State Propaganda Portal (PSPP) reported on his remarks. It did not report on any actual tightening of the belt or who might have the belt tightened about their waiste. However, the Centre Daily Times reported on Wednesday that Graham had said that staff raises would not be likely next year, but he wouldn't at this point rule them out.
Also on Thursday, the PSPP announced the first actual tightening of the belt, or more to the point, the first actual decision to not further loosen the belt. Hershey Hospital will delay the construction of a free standing childeren's hospital,which was scheduled for groundbreaking next month, because it couldn't find any takers for its bonds.
