The Qualification For the Astroturf Groundskeeper

As I've previously mentioned, Penn State has an Astroturf group which coordinates the spontaneous political response of the Nittany Weasel Nation. The head of this group is Alan Janesch.

What qualifies Alan to lead the spontaneous throngs of the Nation? Today he tells us that his

...first job[was] with Penn State (1993-2000, in the public information office in Old Main).

That's right, it's his seven years of service in the Old Main propaganda shop.

Can there be any doubt that Spanier tries to control everything at the University, including spontaneity?
