After I wrote about Penn State's earmarks earlier this week, a longtime reader of the blog emailed me to draw my attention to an interesting fact: The big Penn State peer reviewed money machines faltered a bit last year while the units that fed on government pork did just fine. The following table is constructed from data he sent me in his email, all of which is publicly available here.
Note that the totals in the table are not the total research expenditures by the University since the table does not include all units.
