Guys I've seen this hundreds of times before. People like Barton need to control the people around them and they only really have two tools in the bag, intimidation and conciliation. If the intimidation doesn't beat you into submission and you decide to walk, then they try conciliation. The reason is that they can't afford to have someone who knows too much out of their grasps. Maybe...oh I don't know....let's say talking to reporters.
