The US handling of the incident in the Strait of Hormuz took at turn toward parody today with a credible analysis which suggestions that the voice heard on the Pentagon video saying,"I am coming at you. You will explode in a couple of minutes," very likely did not come from one of the Iranian speedboats. In addition, the Iranians have released their own video of the encounter along with their narrative of the event, which as you might expect, contradicts the Pentagons version. Hell, even the Pentagon has expressed some doubts about their original narrative.
To summarize, the poker players in the Bush/Cheney administration have bet heavily on a hand which all the other players think is weak. So they've decided to fold, right? Nope... like I said Cheney never gives up. They've decided to up the ante by lodging a formal diplomatic protest over the incident. With this turn, the parody may be headed to toward tragedy.
