Hypocrisy:The Penn State Way

Penn State wants you to know that the,

The Big Ten Network will represent the values of Penn State and the other 10 universities which comprise the Big Ten. For example, the Network will not accept any alcohol or gambling advertising..

Of course, the Big Ten Network isn't working out the way that Penn State had hoped. Comcast, which is the regions largest cable provider, won't be carrying the network because of a disagreement with the BTN over whether the network is included in the extend basic package or the sports tier. Consequently, many Penn State football fans will not be able to watch the season opener on TV at home. To help those fans out the Penn State Propaganda Portal recently provide the following list of public places where the game can be watched.
American Ale House - 821 Cricklewood Drive, State College
Champs Sports Bar & Grill - 1611 N. Atherton St., State College
Damon's Grill - 1101 E. College Ave., State College
Hampton Inn & Suites - 1955 Waddle Road, State College
Home Delivery Pizza - 1796 Zion Road, Bellefonte
Home Delivery Pizza - 1820 S. Atherton St., State College
Mad Mex - 240 S. Pugh St., State College
Quaker Steak and Lube - 2200 N. Atherton St., State College
The Rathskeller - 108 S. Pugh St., State College
Rotelli - 250 East Calder Way, State College
That's right they supplied a list of bars. What's next a list of slot parlors? This list demonstrates a true Penn State value, the love of money.

Oh please....what location would you prefer them to communicate - Sheetz, Jiffy Lube, K-mart or Bob's House. It's business, not hypocrisy and if you think it's not, you're naive. Have a beer and enjoy the game.

We Are .... Penn State

guy, it is hypocrisy which according to Merriam-Websters is: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially : the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion

Penn State and the BTN claims that the Network will not promote alcohol consumption, because it goes against a Penn State value, and then Penn State turns around and publishes a list of bars where one can watch the game. That is a textbook example of hypocrisy.

You may believe that hypocrisy is the essence of business, I won't argue that point with you, but it does not change the fact that Penn State is hypocritical. By the way, if one cannot conduct business without engaging in hypocrisy, then there is one more reason to add to a very long list of reasons of why a university should not be run like a business.

As to alternative locations, you lack imagination. Certainly,Penn State could show the game on big screens in the HUB and Schwab, for example, and the same could be done at auditoriums at branch campuses throughout the commonwealth.
